New Mount Bracket Minimizes Contaminants Into Key Start Switch{1553}

Usage:

CS-431B (1XF),
CS-433B (4FK),
CP-433B (1MG) Vibratory Compactors

Description of Change: A new mount bracket is used for the key start switch that helps prevent contaminants from entering the key start switch slot.

Adaptable To: The new 6R4336 Bracket can be used on earlier CS-433B, CP-433B and CS-431B machines by modifying the existing switch mount panel on the operator console. The new bracket is effective with CS-431B (4FK124), CS-433B (1XF109) and CP-433B (1MG594) Vibratory Compactors. Use the following procedure to adapt earlier machines for the new bracket.

Illustration 1. (1) Bracket. (2) Screw. (3) Washer. (4) Nut. (5) Decal.

1. Remove the key start switch and the key switch fuse holder from the existing panel. The key switch fuse holder will be relocated in the following steps.

2. Remove hatched area (6) from the existing panel, using the following dimensions.

Dimension (A) = 12.0 ± 1.0 mm (.47 ±.04 in)
Dimension (B) = 76.5 ± 1.0 mm (3.01 ± .04 in)
Dimension (D) = 13.0 ± 1.0 mm (.51 ± .04 in)
Dimension (E) = 66.0 ± 1.0 mm (2.60 ± .04 in)

3. Determine the position of hole (8) for the new bracket using the following dimensions (C) and (H):

Dimension (C) = 82.5 ± 1.0 mm (3.25 ± .04 in)
Dimension (H) = 62.7 mm (2.47 in)

4. Use bracket (1) as a template, with dimension (C), to locate the remaining holes. Drill the holes to a diameter of 7.9 mm (.31 in).

5. Install bracket (1) using the parts from the parts needed list. Install decal (5) for the switch. Install the key start switch.

6. Determine the position of hole (9) for the key start fuse holder using the following dimensions:

Dimension (F) = 181 ± 1 mm (7.13 ± .04 in)
Dimension (G) = 28.5 mm (1.12 in)

Drill hole (9) to a diameter of 12.7 mm (.50 in).

7. Install the key start fuse holder in hole (9).
