start by:

a) remove valve covers

NOTE: Valve cover bases have been removed for better illustration.

1. Disconnect clips from fuel lines (1) and wires (2) from glow plugs.

2. Use tool (A) to remove glow plugs from precombustion chambers.

Install Glow Plugs

1. Put glow plug (1) in position in precombustion chamber.

2. Use tool (A) to tighten glow plugs to a torque of 120 ± 24 lb.in. (13.6 ± 2.8 N·m).

3. Connect wires to glow plugs and clips to fuel lines.

4. Install valve cover bases. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 120 ± 24 lb.in. (13.6 ± 2.8 N·m).

a) install valve covers
