Usage:
NOTE: Left side exhaust manifold removal is shown.
1. Disconnect clip (5). Loosen clamp (2) and remove oil breather tube (3).
2. Disconnect clips (1) and (6). Remove guide assembly (4) from the engine.
3. Remove the bolts that hold the exhaust manifold to the turbocharger elbow.
4. Remove the locknuts, washers and spacers (7). Remove exhaust manifold (8) from the cylinder head. Remove the gaskets.
5. Remove the elbow (9) from the coupling.
Install Exhaust Manifold
1. Check the O-ring seal on the coupling for wear or damage. If necessary, make a replacement. Put a small amount of 1P808 General Purpose Grease on the O-ring seal.
Install elbow (1) on the coupling.
NOTE: If studs were removed from the cylinder heads, install studs and tighten to a torque of 25 ± 4N·m (20 ± 3 lb ft).
3. Put 5P3931 Anti-Seize Compound on the threads of the studs. Install gaskets (2) and exhaust manifold (3) on the cylinder head.
4. Install spacers, washers and lockwashers on the studs. Tighten the nuts in number sequence to a torque of 52 ± 7N·m (38 ± 5 lb ft).
5. Install oil breather tube (6) in the hose and tighten the clamp that holds it. Connect clip (8) to the bracket.
6. Put guide assembly (5) in position on the engine. Connect clips (4) and (7) to valve cover and cylinder block.
