Usage:
Start By:
a. remove fuel injection lines
b. remove air lines group
c. remove governor control cylinder group
1. Drain the coolant from the cooling system to a level below the aftercooler.
2. Remove the bolts that hold pipe (6) to the aftercooler cover. Remove pipe (6).
3. Remove bolt (4) and nut. Remove bracket assembly (2) from the aftercooler cover and oil level guide tube.
4. Remove the bolts that hold pipe (1) to the aftercooler cover. Remove pipe (1).
5. Remove clip (5) from the oil filler tube. Remove bracket (3) and washer assembly (7) from the aftercooler assembly.
6. Remove bolts (9). Remove aftercooler cover (8).
7. Remove the tube assemblies (10) and (11) from the aftercooler and air compressor.
8. Remove bolts (13). Remove elbow (12) from the back of the aftercooler housing.
9. Remove adapter (15) and (16) from the aftercooler. Remove the O-ring seals from the adapters.
10. Remove elbow (14). Remove the O-ring seals from the elbow.
11. Remove connector (19) from the top of the cylinder block. Remove adapters (17) and (18) from the aftercooler.
12. Remove tube assembly (20) from the engine. Remove the O-ring seals from the tube assembly.
13. Remove bolts (22). Use two persons to remove aftercooler core (21) from the housing. The weight of the aftercooler core is 25 kg (55 lb). Remove the O-ring seals from the aftercooler core.
14. Disconnect hose assembly (25) from the housing.
15. Remove bolts (24). Remove aftercooler housing (23).
Install Aftercooler And Housing
1. Install a new gasket on the aftercooler housing. Install aftercooler housing (1) on the cylinder block.
2. Connect hose assembly (2) to the housing.
3. Install the O-ring seals on the aftercooler core. Put a small amount of clean SAE 30W oil on the O-ring seals. Use two persons to install aftercooler core (3) in the housing.
4. Install the O-ring seals on the tube assembly. Put a small amount of clean SAE 30W oil on the O-ring seals.
5. Put tube assembly (4) in position on the engine.
6. Install adapters (6) and (7) in the left side of the aftercooler.
7. Install a new gasket on the connector. Install connector (5) on the top of the cylinder block.
8. Install adapter (8) in the right side of the aftercooler.
9. Install O-ring seals on the elbow. Put a small amount of clean SAE 30W oil on the O-ring seals.
10. Install elbow (9) on the connector and on the aftercooler.
11. Install adapter (11). Install elbow (10) on the tube assembly and aftercooler.
12. Install tube assemblies (12) and (13) on the air compressor and aftercooler.
13. Install a new gasket on the cover. Install aftercooler cover (14) on the housing.
14. Put bracket assembly (18) and bracket (17) in position on the aftercooler cover. Put pipe (15) in position on the aftercooler cover. Put pipe (15) in position on the pipe and aftercooler cover. Install the bolts that hold them to the cover.
15. Install clip (20) on the oil filler tube and bracket.
16. Put pipe (19) in position on the pipe and aftercooler cover. Put bracket assembly (16) in position on the cover. Install the bolts that hold them to the aftercooler cover.
17. Install the bolt and nut that hold the oil level guide tube to the bracket assembly.
18. Fill cooling system with coolant to the correct level. See LUBRICATION AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL.
