Front Tires And Rims

Usage:

Remove & Install Front Tires And Rims


Typical Example

1. Raise the front of the machine with a 50 ton screw jack until the tire and rim to be removed is off the ground. Put a 20 ton hydraulic jack under the suspension cylinder to prevent it from drifting down.

2. Loosen nuts (1).

3. The weight of the tire and rim is 5042 kg (11118 lb). Put a lift truck or wheel loader in position under the tire and rim. Fasten the tire and rim to the lift truck or wheel loader.

4. Remove nuts (1), the washers and the tire and rim.

NOTE: The following steps are for installation of the front tires and rims.

5. Put 2P2506 Thread Lubricant on the washer faces and the threads of nuts (1). Clean the threads of the studs and the mounting surfaces so there is no paint, grease or other foreign material on them.

6. Fasten the tire and rim to a lift truck or wheel loader, and put the tire and rim in position on the studs. Install the washers and nuts (1) to hold them. Tighten the nuts to a torque of 1000 ± 100 N·m (740 ± 75 lb ft).

7. Remove the jack from under the suspension cylinder.

8. Lower the machine to the ground, and remove the jack.
