Hoist Pilot Valve

Usage:

Remove & Install Hoist Pilot Valve

1. Raise the truck body, and install the body retaining cable.

1. Remove the bolt and hose support clamp (5) from cover (1).

2. Remove the bolts and covers (1).

3. Disconnect the hydraulic hoses from valve (2).

4. Remove pin (4) from linkage rod (3). Set rod (3) aside, clear of valve (2).

5. Remove the bolts holding valve (2) to the machine frame. Remove valve (2).

6. Install valve (2) in the reverse order of removal.

7. Check the hydraulic tank fluid level and fill as needed. See the Operation & Maintenance Manual.

8. Remove the body retaining cable and lower the truck body.

Disassemble & Assemble Hoist Pilot Valve

Start By:

a. remove hoist pilot valve

1. Remove nut (1), boot (2) and the screws holding pivot assembly (3) to hoist valve body (4). Remove pivot assembly (3).


Typical Example

2. Disassemble the hoist pilot valve as follows:

a. Position the pilot valve body (4) a flat clean surface. Remove fittings (5) from two valve assemblies (6).

b. Remove two valve assemblies (6) from valve body (4).

c. Remove O-ring seals (7) from fittings (5).

d. Remove O-ring seals (8) and (9) and back-up ring (10) from valve assemblies (5).

e. Remove the two valve groups from pilot valve body (4). First, remove caps (11); then remove plunger assemblies (12).

f. Remove O-ring seal (13) and inner O-ring seal (14) from cap (11).

g. Use tool (A) to compress the spring on plunger assembly (12). Remove retaining ring (20) from plunger (12). Release the spring tension, and remove tool (A).

h. Remove spring seat (19), inner spring (18), outer spring (17), spring seat (16) and retainer (15) from plunger (12).

j. Repeat Steps 2f through 2h for the remaining plunger assembly (12).

NOTE: Assemble the hoist pilot valve in the reverse order of disassembly.
