- 9G7641 Switch Groups (Keyswitches) with date codes of 208 through 219 need to be removed from dealer Parts Stock. Some of these keyswitches may experience a failure mode in which the keyswitch does not return to a normal position after engine cranking. In certain instances, the switch can stick in the cranking position, and can not be rotated back to the normal position.
NOTE: Switch failure is generally noted within the first several switch "start" cycles.
Action Required
Inspect all 9G7641 Switch Groups in dealer Parts Stock for the date code stamped on the cover area. The date code is WWY where the "WW" is the week and the "Y" is the year. If the keyswitch has a date code of 208 through 219 remove it from stock.
NOTE: 208 through 528 would be 1998 date codes. 019 through 219 would be 1999 date codes.
