Due to the routing of the battery cables behind the fuel filter, on the way to the starter connection posts, the cables are rubbing on the front engine support and eventually wearing enough insulation away to electrically short against the frame.

Parts Needed
Dealers will need to order parts for this Program.
Action Required
The battery cables must be rerouted from behind the fuel filter, and the retaining clip on top of the radiator support rail needs to be relocated to the outside flange of the rail.
To relocate the clip, a 7/16" hole must be drilled on the outside flange of the rail. This hole should be located just between the two pairs of bolts mounting this rail to the engine support. The "P" clip will need to mount hanging down, holding the cables away from any contact with the rail or engine support. See Illustration.
Repair any damage to cable insulation using either 1P0818 electrical tape and/or a split hose if necessary.
