Product Support Program For Inspecting The Damper Group On Certain 3512 And 3516 Engines Caterpillar

NOTE: This Program can be administered either before or after failure.In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS40100" as the Part number and "7755" as the Group Number. If adminstered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "T" as the SIMS Description Code. If adminstered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

Problem

The 4W3113 Damper Group may be missing a spacer between the 7W3193 Damper Assembly and the 100-4323 Damper Group. This spacer prevents the 7W3193 Assembly from interfering with the fluid fill plug on the 100-4323 Damper Group.

Action Required

Visually inspect for spacer being present between the two dampers. Inspect by shining a light into the space between the dampers to determine if the spacer is installed. If spacer is not present, contact:
