Product Support Program For Installing An Oil Filter Support Bracket On Certain 3512B And 3516B Petroleum Engines Caterpillar

NOTE: This Program can be administered either before or after failure. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS40058" as the Part number and "7755" as the Group Number. If adminstered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "T" as the SIMS Description Code. If adminstered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

Some 3500B Petroleum Engines with the 9Z6792 Centrifugal Oil Filter Group may fail (crack) the 8N9993 Cover because the 9Z6792 Centrifugal Oil Filter Group does not have a bracket to adequately support the filter assembly.

Action Required

Replace 8Q9881 Elbow with 1236868 Elbow and install 1185542 Support Bracket with hardware; four 1A2029 bolts, four 5M2894 Washers, two 9S1366 Bolts, four 5p8245 Washers, and two 1F7958 Nuts. Rotate the 1336461 Filter 180 degrees so that the current supply line will reach.
