NOTE: This Program can be administered either before or after a failure. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS4859" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "T" as the SIMS Description Code. If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

There are gaps at the lower inside surface of the hood where the grille and hood contact. Trash and debris can be pulled through the gaps and plug the radiator. A rubber guard (baffle) needs to be installed to prevent this.

Parts Disposition
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
1) Open the hood.
2) Remove the (3) 8C-6433 Screws, (3) 9X-8256 Washers, and (3) 6V-7743 Locknuts retaining the 114-5793 Hood Latch Keeper on either side of the hood, which partially retains the 164-1019 Seal Support As.* Retain the removed items. (Refer to Illustration 1.)
3) Remove the (6) 6V-7357 Bolts and (6) 8T-4205 Hard Washers at the grille retaining the 164-1019 Seal Support As.* in the lower grille area of the hood. Retain the removed items. (Refer to Illustration 2.)
4) Place the removed Seal Support As. on a bench or other flat surface bottom side up.
5) Position the 164-4476 Hood Guard (rubber baffle) on the bottom surface of the Seal Support As. Center the Guard tight against the front edge of the 145-9546 Clip (Bulb) Seal. Using the Guard as a template, mark the location of the ten (10) holes in the Guard on the bottom surface of the Seal Support As.
6) Remove the Guard. Drill a 6.4 mm (0.25 in) hole at each marked location. (Remove the Clip Seal if required. Replace after drilling.)
7) Being careful to keep the Guard flat, attach it to the bottom surface of the Seal Support As. using (10) 6V-2370 Pop Rivets and (10) 9X-6165 Washers. Rivet from the bottom (Guard) side. (Refer to Illustration 2.)
8) Reinstall the Seal Support As. (with guard installed) in the hood. Reassemble the (3) 8C-6433 Screws, (3) 9X-8256 Washers, (3) 6V-7743 Locknuts and the 114-5793 Hood Latch Keeper on either side of the hood, which partially retains the Seal Support As. Reinstall the (6) 6V-7357 Bolts and (6) 8T-4205 Hard Washers at the grille retaining the 164-1019 Seal Support As.* in the lower grille area of the hood. Make sure the Seal Support As. is properly centered in the hood before final tightening of the fasteners.
9) Tuck the rubber Guard into the bottom lip of the hood.
10) Close hood. Check for proper operation.
*Early tractors were assembled with a 146-4258 Seal Support As.The rework procedure is the same for either part number.
