Product Support Program For Adding A Larger Fan To Improve The Cooling System On Certain 574 And 1088 XLC Forwarders Caterpillar

NOTE: This Program can be administered either before or after a failure. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS4820" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "T" as the SIMS Description Code. If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

Problem

A larger fan needs to be added to improve the cooling system on certain 574 and 1088 XLC Forwarders. The factory installed 6H8760 Blower Fan (22 Inch) or the 3N2444 Sucker Fan (22 Inch) may not provide adequate ambient capability for all machine applications. A new 24 inch fan is now available to improve cooling.

6 - 5A3604 Bolt

1 - 5S9897 Spider Assembly - Fan

6 - 8T4121 Washer - Plate

6 - 8T4195 Bolt

1 - 1533980 Adapter - Fan

1 - 1592632 Shroud

Action Required

1. Remove the engine fan, fan adapter and fan shroud.

2. Install the 1592632 Shroud.

3. Install the 1533980 Fan Adapter using the 5A3604 Bolts. Tighten to 30 N·m.

4. Install the 5S9897 Fan using 8T4195 Bolts and 8T4121 Washers. Tighten to 60 N·m.
