Stronger Weights And Gear Used In Automatic Timing Advance

Usage:

3406 Direct Injection Truck Engines

Description of Change: Two parts in the automatic timing advance on 3406 Direct Injection (DI) Truck Engines have been improved.

The weights are made of steel instead of sintered iron and have a thicker section for the spring seat. See illustration.

The retaining ring for the springs is thicker, and has different material and heat treatment. The spring seats have also been changed to make them stronger. Because of this, new springs with a chamfer on the end coil are used.

Adaptable To: The new springs and weights must be used together and are directly adaptable to 3406 Direct Injection Truck Engines, 92U1-up.
