416, 426 and 428 Backhoe Loaders
Description of Change: New retainers and two additional clutch plates are used in the transmission group on backhoe loaders. The new retainer is thinner and will allow the use of one more clutch plate in each of the clutch packs.
Formerly, the retainer functioned as both a retainer and a clutch plate.
Adaptable To: The new 6Y1254 Retainer and one additional 6T9194 Plate directly replace the former 7T3126 Retainer in each clutch pack. The new retainer and additional clutch plate are in effect with 416 (2-WD: 5PC3697, 4-WD: 5PC3704), 426 (2-WD: 7BC700, 4-WD: 7BC691) and 428 (2-WD: 6TC658, 4-WD: 6TC648).
When rebuilding the clutches on backhoe loaders, it will be important to count the number of plates to verify that the correct number are used with the particular retainer.
