Description of Change: The gaskets used in the front housing cover group on the 3412 Engines used in D10N Tractors have been replaced with 6V6640 Gasket Maker. The illustration shows the location of the former gaskets. The use of 6V6640 Gasket Maker will help prevent oil leaks.

Adaptable To: The new 6V6640 Gasket Maker is a direct replacement for the former 4N1722 Gasket and 4N1998 Gaskets in the 7C0120 Front Housing Cover Group on 3412 Engines in D10N Tractors. The new 6V6640 Gasket Maker is in effect with 3412 Engine 73W9703.
When replacing the former gaskets with the new gasket maker, be sure to thoroughly clean the contact surfaces of the timing gear housing, plate, and cover (see the illustration). Spray the contact surfaces with 6V1541 Quick Cure Primer. Put a continuous bead of 6V6640 Gasket Maker on the contact surfaces inside the bolt holes.
