New 6V7070 And 6V7800 Digital Multimeters Available{0651}

Usage:

Two new digital multimeters are available. The 6V7800 (Regular Duty) and 6V7070 (Heavy Duty) Multimeters are replacements for the 6V3030 Multimeter, which is canceled.

The 6V7070 Multimeter is made for use in the Caterpillar field service environment. The case has extra thick walls and O-ring seals which keep out moisture. Internal components are shock mounted. There are two regular test leads plus a separate test lead for the 10 amp current input. This third test lead has a 10 amp 600 volt fuse to protect the multimeter against current overloads.

The 6V7800 Regular Duty Digital Multimeter is for use in the shop. This meter will measure currents up to 2 amps.

Both meters have these improved features:

...Every function and range is computer tested at the factory. Each meter has a 100% burn-in test.

...Improved reference element and voltage divider networks keep the meters accurate for at least a year without calibration.

...A common 9 volt battery power source will run the meter for 2000 hours. Most multimeters have a battery life of 200 hours. This means 10 less battery replacements are necessary with the Caterpillar meter.

If you have the former 6V3030 Multimeter, a 6V7804 fused 10 Amp Current Lead is now available and should be used whenever you use the 10 amp Input Connector on the front panel. This fused lead protects the meter and the operator against current overload. Special Instruction SEHS7734-01 has instructions on the use of these multimeters.
