Stick Cylinder Rod Will Not Move In Fully Retracted Position; Cylinder Rod Has New Design{5458}

Description of Change: A change has been made to the piston rod in the stick cylinder group for 227 Loggers. The end of the piston rod now has a machined groove which permits the oil to flow past the rod when the cylinder is fully retracted. Formerly, it was possible for the rod to stick (not move freely) in the fully retracted position because the rod made a seal against the cap.
Adaptable To: The new 1W4729 Rod Assembly is adaptable to all earlier machines. The part number did not change. If desired, a slot can be machined in the former piston rod to give free movement of the cylinder. See the illustration.
