Damaged Lifter Bores In 3400 Series Engines Can Be Used Again{1201,0374}
Usage:
3400 Series Engines
Heavy wear or damage of lifter bores in the above engines does not necessarily result in the need to install a new engine block. The same block can be used again after a 4W4588 Sleeve (Illustration 1) is installed in the damaged bore (Illustration 2). A description of the procedure and tools necessary to install the sleeve are given in Guideline For Reusable Parts-Salvage Of Lifter Bores In 3400 Series Engines, Form No. SEBF8069.
