Improved Governor Control Shaft And Seal Will Help Prevent Oil Leakage{1265}

Usage:

All 3408 And 3412 Engines

Description of Change: An improved governor control shaft and seal are now used in the governor group on the above engines. The improved shaft has shorter splines to prevent contact between the splines and the lips of the seal.

The improved seal now is a double lip design. This will make a better seal around the shaft. The former seal was a single lip design.

Formerly, in some applications it was possible for debris to get between the shaft and the lip of the seal and permit oil leakage.

Adaptable To: The improved 1N4656 Shaft and 5P3272 Seal are direct replacements for the former parts. The part numbers did not change.

The improved 1N4656 Shaft can be identified by the letter "H" which is on both ends. The improved 5P3272 Seal can be identified by the two lips. The earlier seal had the part number on it, so it was visible when the seal was installed in the housing.
