Lock Screw For Threaded Crown On Hydraulic Cylinders No Longer Used{5000}

The lock screw for the threaded crown on hydraulic cylinders is no longer used at the factory. See the illustration. This screw was originally used to hold the crowns in place. Reports show that it is possible to push the head of the cylinder out of alignment with the cylinder bore when the screw is tightened. This can cause scoring (deep scratches) of the cylinder rod. Removal of this screw will not cause the crown to loosen. Remove the lock screw from the crown on all cylinders as they are serviced.
