Reference: Service Magazine, March 12, 1979, Page 15. In the article "New Blade Lift And Centershift Cylinders...," you were told about new cylinder groups that use shims to permit adjustment of the ball joint (connections).
Reports show that some servicemen are not completely sure where these shims are used. The shims must be used between the insert and the cylinder rod or cap. See the illustration. The same number of shims must be used on each side of the cap and/or cylinder rod to permit an even distribution of the clamp force.
