--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------
Description of Change: Circle drive groups with slip clutches are now available as an attachment for the above motor graders.
The slip clutches give the circle, blade and circle drive protection from impact damage when the end of the blade hits some thing that will not move.
Adaptable To: The new circle drive groups are available as factory-installed attachments.
The former circle drive groups with slip clutches, which were made-as-ordered attachments, are canceled. Replacement parts for the former 3Z3264 Circle Drive Group are given in Chart E.
The new circle drive groups, which have slip clutches, are also adaptable to Series "G" Motor Graders not equipped with ABC. To add the new circle drive to a machine in the field, the new parts shown in the charts which follow are needed. Also in the charts are original parts which must be inspected during the conversion. It is Caterpillar's recommendation that replacement parts be installed for any of these parts which have worn areas.
To adapt the parts in the above chart to 120G Motor Graders which have Serial Numbers 82V1-794 and 88V1-2971, some modifications are necessary. Either adjustable front circle shoes must be installed on the drawbar, or the 5J861 Studs, which were removed from the former 9D1488 Housing Assembly, must be installed in the new 6G7142 Housing Assembly. Special Instruction Form No. SMHS7185 has the complete parts list and procedure for installation of adjustable front circle shoes on the drawbar.

NOTE:
1. Put some lubricant on the area of the shaft which makes contact with the bearing.
2. The rubber toric rings and all surfaces which make contact with them in the 5K5288 Seal Group (Duo-Cone Seals) must be clean and dry when they are assembled. Put a thin layer of oil on the contact surfaces of the metal seals just before assembly.
3. Put a thin layer of lubricant on the seal bores before the seals are installed, excluding the 5K5288 Seal Group (Duo-Cone Seals).
4. Put the 26475 Discs in SAE80 ML on SAE90 MPL oil for approximately 15 minutes before installation.
