Usage:
1. Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces of the differential and bevel gear and of the axle housing.
2. Install O-ring seal (7) on differential and bevel gear (5). Apply 1U-6396 O-ring Assembly Compound on O-ring seal (7).
3. Install Tooling (A) on differential and bevel gear (5). Attach a hoist and suitable lifting slings to Tooling (A).
4. Use the hoist to carefully install differential and bevel gear (5) in the axle housing. The weight of the differential and bevel gear is 385 kg (850 lb).
5. Put bracket (6) and four brake hose assemblies (2) and in position on differential and bevel gear (5).
6. Install twenty bolts (4) and the washers. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 230 ± 40 N·m (170 ± 30 lb ft) plus an additional 120 degrees ± 10 degrees.
7. Install two hose clips (3).
8. Connect four brake hose assemblies (2) to the axle housing assembly.
End By:
a. Install the oscillating axle. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Oscillating Axle (Rear) - Remove and Install" for the machine that is being serviced.
b. Install the fixed axle. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fixed Axle (Front) - Remove and Install" for the machine that is being serviced.
c. Install the axle shafts. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Axle Shaft - Remove and Install" for the machine that is being serviced.
