R1700G L.H.D. STEERING SYSTEM Caterpillar

(1) Pin (1) in the body must be aligned with internal pump gear (gerotor) (2). The pin must be aligned with drive (3). Refer to the above illustration.

(4) Tighten the bolts in the order that is shown in the above illustration.

The initial dry torque for the bolts ... 14 ± 3 N·m (125 ± 27 lb inch)

The final torque for the bolts ... 28 ± 3 N·m (250 ± 27 lb inch)

(5) Torque for the plug ... 11 ± 2 N·m (98 ± 18 lb inch)

Plug to be flush (even) with or below the mounting surface.
