Description of Change: A new soot filter (silencer) is used in the above engines. The new soot filter provides maximum filtering of combustion air and can minimize clogging of the aftercooler. The new soot filter helps prevent fouling of the turbocharger compressor wheel.
Adaptable To: The new 137-9974 Soot Filter (Silencer) is a component of the 7W-0245 Basic Silencer Group, 116-2336 Intake Silencer Group (Basic), 117-9529 Air Cleaner Silencer Group, and the 129-9418 Air Cleaner And Silencer Group (P Series Turbocharger). The new 137-9974 Soot Filter (Silencer) is adaptable to the above engines back to first production.
