The specifications for setting the inlet valve metering pump has been changed to provide increased oil flow to the inlet valves. The chart provides the pump setting specifications and flow rate specifications. The illustration shows the locations of the metering pump adjustment screws.
Flow Adjustment Procedure
Location of Adjusting Screws on a typical inlet valve metering pump.
1. Rotate both adjusting screws counterclockwise to the full open position.
2. Rotate both adjusting screws clockwise the number of clicks specified in the table. This will provide the correct oil flow rate.
The inlet valve metering pump flow rate should be checked every 4000 hours of operation. If the pump flow rate is not correct, the pump should be removed, cleaned, and readjusted. If the correct flow rate can not be maintained, the pump should be replaced.
Make note of this information in the appropriate Specifications modules, Disassembly and Assembly modules, and Operation and Maintenance Manuals.
