Procedure for installing the Product LinkTM PL631/PLE631 is now available for the machines listed above.

Currently at the Caterpillar Xuzhou Ltd. (CXL) facility, China regulation prohibits activation of the PL631/PLE631 systems. When these machines are shipped from the CXL facility, the PL631 connector (A) is disconnected, and the dummy connectors are installed to protect both the PL631 connector (A) and the product link harness connector (B). Refer to the following procedure to install and activate the PL631 connector (A).

  1. Remove the eight screws (C) and three bolts (D), then remove the cover.

    (A) PL631 connector

  2. Under the cover, find the PL631 connector (A) beside of ET connector. Cut the strap.

  3. Remove the dummy connector (E) and the product link harness connector (B) connected to the PL631 connector (A).

  4. Connect the Cat ® ET to the machine to ensure that the PL631 ECM is installed correctly.

Refer to Special Instruction , REHS8850 for installing the PLE641 and PLE631 systems.
