Removal Procedure

Personal injury can result from parts and/or covers under spring pressure. Spring force will be released when covers are removed. Be prepared to hold spring loaded covers as the bolts are loosened.

Personal injury or death can occur from not following the proper procedure or the recommended tooling. To prevent the possibility of injury or death, follow the established procedure using the recommended tooling.

1. Remove bolts (1).

2. Disconnect harness assembly (2).

3. Remove cable straps (3) and position sensors (4).

4. Remove bolts (5).

5. Remove bolts (6) and strap (7).

6. Loosen bolts (8) and clamp (9).
   Show/hide table

7. Remove nuts (12) and bolts (13).

8. Use a suitable lifting device with Tooling (A) and remove air shutoff group (11) with air pipe (10). The combined weight of air pipe (10) and air shutoff group (11) is approximately 23 kg (51 lb).

9. Remove bolts (19) with bracket (17).

10. Remove bolts (15) with clips (16).

11. Separate air shut off valve assembly (18) and air inlet elbow (14).

Installation Procedure

1. Position air inlet elbow (14) with air shut off valve assembly (18).

2. Install bolts (15) with clips (16), bolt (20) with bracket (17), and bolt (19) finger tight. Align bolted joints to reduce assembly preload.

   Note: Tighten bolts (15), (19), and (20) in the following sequence.

3. Tighten bolts (19).

4. Tighten bolts (20) with bracket (17).

5. Tighten bolts (15) and clips (16). Orient grommet with the cut inside the open area of clip (16).

6. Lubricate O-ring seals on air pipe (10) with Tooling B and install in air shutoff group (11).

7. Use a suitable lifting device with Tooling (A) and install air shutoff group (11) with air pipe (10). The combined weight of air pipe (10) and air shutoff group (11) is approximately 23 kg (51 lb).

8. Tighten nuts (12) and bolts (13) to a torque of 35 ± 5 N·m (26 ± 4 lb ft).

9. Tighten bolts (8) to a torque of 40 ± 2 N·m (30 ± 1 lb ft).

10. Tighten clamp (9).

11. Install bolts (5).

12. Install strap (7) with bolts (6).

13. Install position sensors (4) and cable straps (3).

14. Tighten position sensor nuts to a torque of 30 ± 3 N·m (22 ± 2 lb ft).

15. Connect harness (2).

16. Install bolts (1).
