Use Of A High Temperature Regulator Will Keep Condensation To A Minimum

All 3304, 3306, G333, G342, G343, G353, G379, G398, G399 Natural Gas Engines

Some natural gas engines, when used with gas compressors, have problems, which are a result of low jacket water temperatures. Two of these problems are:

... Condensation, which causes oil sludge, when the engines are operated with light loads.
... The development of sulfuric acid in the oil from operation with H2S (hydrogen sulfide) in the natural gas.

The use of a water temperature regulator with a higher opening temperature will reduce the possibility of these problems. The water temperature regulators, which are shown in the chart, have an opening temperature setting of 88°C (190°F).
