Description Of Change: The new drain hose has a check valve to prevent oil from being pulled into the air intake system.
The oil level sensor vent location moves to the oil level gauge hole, and the new drain hose attaches to the oil pan at the previous oil level sensor vent location.
Adaptable To: The following changes are adaptable to the products within the listed serial numbers, and are effective with all products after the listed serial numbers.
The new 153-9085 Hose As and 348-9705 Check Valve As replace the former 399-8539 Hose As.
The new drain hose is adaptable to the above engines back to first production.
The Closed Crankcase Ventilation (CCV) parts are listed in Table 1.

CCV Drain Line Installation

- Install two couplings (8) onto hose (7).
The hose can be made from the existing drain hose.
- Remove the existing drain line and hardware.
- Install cap (12) onto fitting attached to the oil pan.
- Install adapter (9) into the oil pan.
- Install check valve (10) and one O-ring (11) into adapter (9). Orient the check valve 25 degrees above horizontal.
- Attach hose assembly (7) to check valve assembly (10) and the CCV canister.
- Secure hose assembly (7) to the flywheel housing with one clip (1), one bolt (2), two washers (3), one nut (4), one bracket (5), and one bolt (6).

- Install adapter (1) and one O-ring into the oil level gauge port.
- Install elbow (4) and one O-ring (3) onto adapter (1).
- Attach tube (6) and O-ring (5) to elbow (4).
- Attach hose (12) to tube (6) and the oil level sensor with the original clamps.
- Secure tube (6) to the engine block with one clip (10), one clip (11), one stud (7), one washer (8), and one nut (9).
