Troubleshooting Test Steps | Values | Results |
1. Check for Codes A. Connect Cat® Electronic Technician (ET) to the service tool connector. B. Look for active codes that are associated with the system for the event code. |
Codes |
Result: A 2434-1 or 2434- 18 code is active. Proceed to Test Step 2. Result: A 2434-1 or 2434- 18 code is not active. Return to Service. |
2. Perform the Hydrocarbon (HC) Release Procedure A. Refer to the HC release procedure within the Operation and Maintenance Manual (OMM) for the proper steps to perform the HC release procedure. |
OMM Procedure |
Result: The 2434-1 or 2434- 18 codes cleared during the HC Release Procedure. Return to Service. Result: A 2434-1 or 2434- 18 code is active. Repair: Ensure that the HC Release Procedure was performed according to the specifications in the OMM. Verify that the repair eliminated the problem. |
If the procedure did not correct the issue, contact your Cat dealer Technical Communicator (TC). For further assistance, your TC can confer with the Dealer Solutions Network (DSN).
