NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

NOTICE

Make sure that the components of the breather assembly are installed correctly. Engine damage may occur if the breather assembly is not working properly.

Heated Connector Electrical Requirements

  • The heated connection needs to be active only when the engine is in operation. It is recommended that the heated connection is powered up through the applications key switch of the application to prevent unnecessary drain on the battery.

  • The heater is approved for 12 VDC and 24 VDC operation.

  • No control circuitry is required. The connector can be permanently on when the application is in operation or shut down with ignition keyswitch in the ON position.

  • The electrical connection is positive to one terminal and negative to the other terminal. The heater is not polarity sensitive, therefore either terminal can be used for the positive feed.

  • Fuse protection for the heater circuit is recommended. The recommended fuse rating is 5A.

  • When switched on the heater draws greater current (1.9A at 12 VDC, falling as the heater heats 0.6A at 12 VDC after approximately 8 minutes) where upon the heater stabilizes.

  • Start up current at 24 VDC operation is 3.8A falling to 0.3A at 24 VDC after approximately 8 minutes.

  • Ensure that the electrical connection and harness are protected from heat sources such as exhaust manifolds.

  • Ensure that the harness to the connector is secured and cannot be snagged on other components.
