Removal Procedure

Start By:

1. Remove the power train guard.

Note: The transmission hydraulic control relief valve is located on the right side of the transmission housing.

1. Disconnect harness assembly (1) and cut the cable straps.

2. Remove bolts (3) and remove relief valve (2).

3. Remove O-ring seal (6).

4. Remove caps (5), fittings (6) and O-ring seals (7) from relief valve (2).

5. Remove nut (8) and coil (9) from relief valve (2).

6. Remove cartridge (10), O-ring seal (11), back-up ring (12), O-ring seal (13), O-ring seal (14), and back-up ring (15) from relief valve (2).

Installation Procedure

1. Install relief valve (2) in the reverse order of the removal procedure.

   1. Tighten cartridge (10) to a torque 100 ± 10 N·m (74 ± 7 lb ft)

   2. Tighten nut (8) to a torque of 8 ± 1 N·m (70 ± 9 lb in)

   3. Tighten bolts (3) to a torque of 30 ± 4 N·m (22 ± 3 lb ft).
