Table 1
Specifications for 263-1852 Connecting Rod Gp, 348-7288 Connecting Rod Gp, 482-8753 Connecting Rod, and 482-8756 Connecting Rod
Item  Qty  Part  Specification Description
Piston pin bushing bore 130.00 ± 0.015 mm (5.1181 ± 0.0006 inch)
Distance between center of bearings is 600 mm (23.6 inch)
Bore in connecting rod for crankshaft bearing is 225 ± 0.015 mm (8.8583 ± 0.0006 inch) after the connecting rod cap has been installed and torqued.
4P-6125 Bushing(1)  The connecting rod temperature may be raised to 190° ± 15°C (342° ± 27°F) to install the bushing.
Note: Do not use a torch to heat the connecting rod.

The piston pin bushing temperature may be lowered to −90° C (−130° F) to install the bushing into the connecting rod piston pin bore.

Lubricate the piston pin with clean engine oil prior to installation.
(1) Machining is required after piston pin bushing is installed

467-0537 Bolt As  Tighten the bolts for a maximum of five times. The reuse includes the retightening after checking the rod bore or bearing clearance. Do not reuse the connecting rod nuts. An overloaded bolt can be detected by threading a new 205-0640 Nut onto the bolt by hand. If the threads are not damaged, the nut will easily reach the end of the bolt thread with light finger pressure. If the nut stops before reaching the end, do not reuse the bolt.
463-9619 Bolt  The 463-9619 Special Bolt As and 463-9626 Nut may be reused if they meet reuse guidelines. An overloaded or damaged bolt can be detected by threading a new 463-9626 nut on the bolt by hand. If the threads are not damaged, the nut will easily reach the end of the bolt thread with light finger pressure. If the nut stops before reaching the end, do not reuse the bolt.

Connecting Rod Bolt Tightening Procedure for 263-1852 Connecting Rod Gp, and 348-7288 Connecting Rod Gp
Item  Qty  Part  Specification Description
205-0640 Nut
1. Lubricate the bolt threads, bolt shank, and nut seating faces of cap and nut with Bel-Ray Molylube 67700.

2. Tighten all four nuts by hand until the nuts contact the face of the cap. No resistance should be felt that would indicate thread damage or debris in the joint. If the nuts and/or nuts cannot be threaded by hand, the nuts and/or bolts must be replaced. Do not use an impact wrench to install the nuts up to the face of the cap.

Note: Nuts (1) and (2) are on the tab side of the connecting rod cap.

3. Sequentially tighten nuts (1) and (4) to 105 ± 15 N·m (75 ± 10 lb ft).

4. Sequentially tighten nuts (2) and (3) to 105 ± 15 N·m (75 ± 10 lb ft).

5. Tighten nuts (1) and (4) sequentially to 340 ± 15 N·m (250 ± 11 lb ft).

6. Tighten nuts (2) and (3) sequentially to 340 ± 15 N·m (250 ± 11 lb ft).

7. Again tighten nuts (1) and (4) sequentially to 340 ± 15 N·m (250 ± 11 lb ft).

8. Again tighten nuts (2) and (3) sequentially to 340 ± 15 N·m (250 ± 11 lb ft).

8. Turn nuts (1) and (4) sequentially to 180 ± 5 degrees.

9. Turn nuts (2) and (3) sequentially to 180 ± 5 degrees.
