Engine Oil Scavenge Pump - Remove and Install

Usage:

Removal Procedure


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.


Start By:

  1. Remove oil pan.

  1. Remove bolts (1) and clamps (2).

  2. Remove bolts (5), housing (4), and tube assembly (3).

  3. Remove bolts (6) and engine oil scavenge pump (7).

  4. Remove bolts (8) and elbow (10).

  5. Remove bolts (9) and pump cover (11).

  6. Remove bolt (12) and drive gear (13).

  7. Remove drive shaft (14) and idler shaft (15).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install engine oil scavenge pump (7) in the reverse order of removal.

    Note: Before running engine oil scavenge pump (7) lubricate pump with clean engine oil.

    1. Use a suitable press to apply 8680 ± 222 N (1951 ± 50 lb) to press drive gear (13) onto drive shaft (14).

    2. Tighten bolt (12) to a torque of 100 ± 20 N·m (74 ± 15 lb ft).

    3. Use a suitable press to reapply 8680 ± 222 N (1951 ± 50 lb) to drive gear (13).

    4. Retighten bolt (12) to a torque of 100 ± 20 N·m (74 ± 15 lb ft).

    5. Tighten bolts (6) to a torque of 50 ± 10 N·m (37 ± 7 lb ft).

    6. Lightly lubricate the bore of tube assembly (3) with the fluid that is being sealed.
