Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
- Clamp off hose assembly (1) and hose assembly (2).
- Remove hose assembly (3) and hose assembly (5).
- Disconnect harness assembly (4).

Note: Refer to Special Instruction, REHS8231, "Removal Procedures for Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Connectors" for the correct removal procedure of hose assembly (1) and hose assembly (2).
- Install manifold (12) in reverse order of removal.
- Tighten bolts (11) in an alternating sequence to a torque of
5 ± 1 N·m (44 ± 9 lb in) . Tighten bolts (11) a second time in an alternating sequence to a torque of5 ± 1 N·m (44 ± 9 lb in) . - Apply Tooling (A) to the O-ring seal inside hose assembly (1) and hose assembly (2).
