Modem Replacement Procedure

1. Verify that the system is shut down and that all safety procedures are followed.

2. Unplug the power cable (1) and the DB-9 (2) connector from the back of the modem (3).

3. Remove the two mounting screws (4).

4. Remove the modem (3).

5. Using an insulated object, press the yellow button (5) and release the SIM card tray.

6. Slide the tray out and remove the SIM card from the tray.

7. Install the replacement modem using the reverse procedure for removal.

8. Verify that the antenna is securely fastened to the modem.

9. Open the SIM card tray. Install the SIM card that was removed in Step 6.

10. Slide the SIM card tray with the SIM card into the modem. Press in firmly on the tray to ensure that the tray is install completely.

11. Install the modem using the two mounting brackets.

12. Install two mounting screws and tighten.

13. Connect the DB-9 connector and power cable to the modem.

14. Turn the communication control power switch to the ON position.

15. Turn on the system.

16. Use the Field Service Tool to modify the system configuration as needed for the SIM provider.

17. The required time to configure the ESS and establish communication with the network will require approximately 2 minutes after the new SIM card is installed. The status light on the modem will blink to indicate normal communication with the network.
