Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) Card - Replace
SIM Card Replacement Procedure
Note: If desired, the SIM card can be replaced while the system is on. Be careful when working around the modem and other components to avoid a short circuit fault.
- Verify that the communication control power switch is in the OFF position. The switch will power off the modem so that the SIM card can be removed safely.
- Using an electrically insulated object, press the yellow button and release the SIM card tray.
- Slide the tray out and remove the SIM card from the tray.
- Install the new SIM card using the reverse procedure for removal.
- When installing the new SIM card, take care to seat the card in the correct orientation. Ensure that the card seats completely in the tray. A misaligned card may cause issues with connectivity.
- Slide the SIM card tray with the SIM card into the modem and press firmly on the tray to install completely.
- Turn the communication control power switch to the ON position.
- Modify the system configuration for the SIM provider using the Field Service Tool.
- The required time to configure the ESS and establish communication with the network will require approximately 2 minutes after the new SIM card is installed. The status light on the modem will blink to indicate normal communication with the network.
