SIM Card Replacement Procedure

Note: If desired, the SIM card can be replaced while the system is on. Be careful when working around the modem and other components to avoid a short circuit fault.

  1. Verify that the communication control power switch is in the OFF position. The switch will power off the modem so that the SIM card can be removed safely.

  2. Using an electrically insulated object, press the yellow button and release the SIM card tray.

  3. Slide the tray out and remove the SIM card from the tray.

  4. Install the new SIM card using the reverse procedure for removal.

  5. When installing the new SIM card, take care to seat the card in the correct orientation. Ensure that the card seats completely in the tray. A misaligned card may cause issues with connectivity.

  6. Slide the SIM card tray with the SIM card into the modem and press firmly on the tray to install completely.

  7. Turn the communication control power switch to the ON position.

  8. Modify the system configuration for the SIM provider using the Field Service Tool.

  9. The required time to configure the ESS and establish communication with the network will require approximately 2 minutes after the new SIM card is installed. The status light on the modem will blink to indicate normal communication with the network.
