Electric Starting Motor - Remove and Install - Dual Start - 24V Electric and Air Start

Removal Procedure

------ WARNING! ------

Do not disconnect the air lines until the air pressure in the system is at zero. If hose is disconnected under pressure it can cause personal injury.


------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury can result from failure to disconnect the battery.

First, disconnect the negative battery cable. Then, disconnect the positive battery cable.

A positive power lead can cause sparks if the battery is not disconnected. Sparks can possibly result in battery explosion or fire.


  1. Disconnect the batteries.

  2. Shut OFF the pressurized air supply or gas supply. Purge the pressurized air from the hose assemblies, tube assemblies, and the air starting motor.

  3. Remove harness assembly (1), harness assembly (2), and harness assembly (3).

  4. Remove bolts (5) and electric starting motor (4).

  5. Disconnect harness assembly (6).

  6. Remove bolts (8) and air starting motor (7).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install air starting motor (7) and electric starting motor (4) in the reverse order of removal.
