The ends of the bellows are very sharp. Injury could occur if the bellows are not handled properly. Handle the bellows by the convolutions. |
- Install exhaust manifold assembly (5) in the reverse order of removal.
- Apply Tooling (A) to male ends of manifold (9) and manifold (11).
- Apply Tooling (B) to male ends of tube assembly (6).
- Apply Tooling (C) to studs (12) and studs (7). Tighten studs (12) and (7) to a torque of
35 ± 5 N·m (26 ± 4 lb ft) . The torque tool speed should not exceed 100 RPM. - Install gaskets (8) so that the tabs are down.
- Install bellows (1) with the flow arrow pointing towards the exhaust cooler. Total misalignment of the bellows is
1.50 mm (0.060 inch) lateral and1.50 mm (0.060 inch) axial. - Tighten clamp assemblies (2) to a torque of
7.5 ± 1 N·m (66 ± 9 lb in) .Show/hide tableIllustration 4 g01866113 Typical Example - Apply Tooling (C) to locknuts (3). Tighten locknuts (3) in the above sequence to a torque of
55 ± 5 N·m (41 ± 4 lb ft) .
