- Isolate the electric power generation set. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Generator Isolating for Maintenance" for the correct procedure.

Illustration 1 g03705982 - Disconnect harness assembly (1).
- Remove engine speed/timing sensor (2) from the flywheel housing. Remove the O-ring seal from the engine speed/timing sensor.
- Install the O-ring seal on engine speed/timing sensor (2). Extend the sliphead of engine speed/timing sensor (2) to a minimum distance of 4.0 mm (0.16 inch) prior to installation.
- Apply Tooling (A) to the threads of engine speed/timing sensor (2). Install the engine speed/timing sensor in the flywheel housing and tighten to a torque of
40 ± 5 N·m (30 ± 4 lb ft) . - Connect harness assembly (1).
