Electromagnetic Fan Clutch Available{1359}

There have been numerous request for an electrically operated fan clutch for the trucks that operate in colder climates. The new EC450, Corsair Fan Clutch is available from Horton Industries, Inc. This fan clutch is NOT available through the Caterpillar Parts Department. This new electromagnetic fan clutch directly replaces the viscous fan clutch on these engines.

Retrofit kits come complete with a temperature sensor and wiring harness. The electrical temperature sensor monitors the engine jacket water temperature and controls the operation of the fan clutch. The clutch will not engage until the engine coolant reaches a preset temperature. This results in faster warm ups, improved fuel economy, warmer cab temperature in cold weather, and reduced noise.
