Remove Internal Components From 4P-8454 Cover Assembly{1309}

Usage:

3306C (7RJ) Truck Engines

The 4P-8454 Cover Assembly fits on the side of the engine oil filter base. The cover assembly includes components that form a check valve. The turbocharger oil supply flows through this check valve the cover assembly. Some of the internal components of the cover assembly can fail and allow the ball in the check valve to block the oil supply line to the turbocharger. This can result in damage to the turbocharger.

Location of components to be removed from the 4P8454 Cover Assembly. 4P-8598 Retainer Ring (1). 4P-8452 Retainer (2). 9H-2367 Spring (3). 7W-3983 Retainer Ring (4). 4B-9783 Ball (5).

Remove retainer ring (1), retainer (5), spring (3), ball (5), and retainer ring (4) from the cover assembly. This change is in effect with 3306C Truck Engine 7RJ4978.
