Possible Interference Problem With 9U-7241 Valve Spring Compressor Group{0703}
Usage:
3406E Truck Engines
The 9U-7241 Valve Spring Compressor Group may bind when being used to compress the valve springs on 3406E Truck Engines. The 9U-7548 Compressor Base Assembly (part of the 9U-7241 Valve Spring Compressor Group) may not be machined to the correct diameter. This may cause the compressor base assembly to tilt when the injector clamp bolt is tightened.
Measure the small diameter (A) of the 9U-7548 Compressor Base Assembly. See the illustration. Diameter (A) should be 23.00 ± 0.25 mm (.905 ± .010 in). If diameter (A) is not correct, it can be machined to the correct diameter or the 9U-7241 Valve Spring Compressor Group may be returned for warranty.
