Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |

- Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil and Filter - Change" for the proper draining and filling procedures.

- Remove bolts (1 ) and elbow (2).

- Remove bolts (8) and disconnect tube assembly (6).
- Remove bolts (10) and manifold (9).

- Use Tooling (A) to remove filter assembly (14).
- Remove bolts (12) and bolts (15). Remove engine oil filter base (13) and the O-ring seals.

Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
- Remove plug (18), spring (17), and plunger (16) from engine oil filter base (13).

- Remove plug (21), spring assembly (20), and valve (19) from engine oil filter base (13).

- Remove plug (24), spring (23), and plunger (22) from engine oil filter base (13).

- Remove bolt (29), seat (28), spring (27), retainer (26), and spacer (25) from engine oil filter base (13).
- Install engine oil filter base (13) in the reverse order of removal.
- Apply lubricant that is being sealed to all O-ring seals and the filters.
- Tighten plug (24) to a torque of
100 ± 15 N·m (74 ± 11 lb ft) . - Use Tooling (A) to tighten engine oil filter (26) one full turn after engine oil filter (26) contacts engine oil filter base (13).
- Tighten plug (21) to a torque of
100 ± 15 N·m (74 ± 11 lb ft) . - Tighten plug (18) to a torque of
100 ± 15 N·m (74 ± 11 lb ft) .
