Exhaust Manifold - Remove and Install

Usage:

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the air inlet manifold. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Air Inlet Manifold - Remove and Install".


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Remove two band clamps (2) and bellows (1).

    Note: Band clamps and bellows are one time use.

  2. Repeat Step 1 for the opposite side.

  3. Remove four band clamps (6), two bellows (5), four bolts (3), and adapter (4).

    Note: Band clamps and bellows are one time use.

  4. Remove two exhaust temperature sensors (7).

  5. Remove two band clamps (9) and bellows (10).

    Note: Band clamps and bellows are one time use.

  6. Remove four bolts (11) and exhaust manifold (8).

  7. Repeat Steps 5 through 6 for the remaining exhaust manifolds.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install exhaust manifolds (8) in reverse order of removal.

    1. Apply Tooling (A) to bolts (11).

    2. Tighten bolts (11) to 55 ± 5 N·m (41 ± 4 lb ft) then retighten bolts (11) to 55 ± 5 N·m (41 ± 4 lb ft).

    3. Tighten band clamps (2) to 17 ± 2 N·m (13 ± 1 lb ft). Tap band clamps (2) around the circumference and retighten to 17 ± 2 N·m (13 ± 1 lb ft).

    4. Tighten band clamps (6) to 17 ± 2 N·m (13 ± 1 lb ft). Tap band clamps (6) around the circumference and retighten to 17 ± 2 N·m (13 ± 1 lb ft).

    5. Tighten band clamps (9) to 12 ± 1 N·m (9 ± 1 lb ft).
