- Position the machine on level ground.
- Stop the engine.
- Release the pressure in the hydraulic system. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "System Pressure - Release".
- Attach 311-1362 Vacuum Cap onto the hydraulic tank. Attach an air supply hose onto the assembly. Apply
276 to 414 kPa (40 to 60 psi) . This procedure will pull a vacuum on the hydraulic system.Show/hide tableIllustration 2 g02148661 (1) Right swing motor

(9) Connector - Disconnect connector (9) from the solenoid valve for swing parking brake (8).
- Start the engine.
- Place the machine controls at the following settings: engine speed dial "10" and AEC switch OFF. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Engine Performance - Test (Engine Speed)" for engine rpm settings.
- Place the hydraulic activation control lever in the UNLOCKED position.
- Increase the hydraulic oil temperature to
55° ± 5°C (131° ± 9°F) . - Slowly move the swing joystick and make sure that the swing brake is activated.
- Move the swing joystick for a full SWING RIGHT. Measure the case drain oil. Refer to Table 1 or Table 2.
- Stop the engine.
- Connect connector (9) to the solenoid valve for the swing parking brake (8).
- Repeat this test procedure three times to obtain three measurements of case drain oil. For each test procedure, swing the upper structure to a different position.
