Centrifugal Lube Filter Group Available

Usage:

3176 (2YG, 7LG) Truck Engines

Description of Change: A centrifugal lube filter is available for 3176 Truck Engines. The centrifugal lube filter group will increase the filtering capabilities of the lube system. The centrifugal lube filter group should not be used by itself to extend the recommended oil change interval. Extension of the oil change intervals requires strict SOS monitoring to determine the optimum interval for each application.

Adaptable To: No modifications or other components are required to install the 7C9965 Centrifugal Lube Filter Group on 3176 Truck Engines 7LG4625-Up.

For 3176 Truck Engines 2YG1-Up, and 7LG1-4624, the following components and modifications are required to install the centrifugal filter:

* A 4P7043 Filter Base Group.
* A 7C9965 Centrifugal Lube Filter Group.
* Increase the diameter of cylinder block oil drain hole (1) from 32.0 mm (1.26 in) to 35.0 mm (1.38 in). This oil drain hole is located behind the standard oil filter. The cylinder block leaves the factory with cover (2) installed over drain hole (1).

Location of oil drain hole (1) and cover (2).

NOTE: At each oil change interval, a new 4P8928 Centrifugal Rotor Kit should be installed in the centrifugal lube filter group.
