Description of Change: A new heavy-duty aftercooler core is available as a service replacement on commercial C32 marine engines operating in seawater. The new heavy-duty core is more durable and less likely to develop corrosion-erosion caused by debris in the seawater circuit.

Adaptable To: The new 399-6239 Heavy-duty Aftercooler Core As is a service replacement option for the existing 307-4581 Aftercooler Core As. Both cores are available for order through Morton service parts.

The following system requirements apply to both the new 399-6239 Heavy-duty Aftercooler Core As and the existing 307-4581 Aftercooler Core As :

1. The existing cleaning and replacement service intervals called out in the C32 Marine Manuals:
   • Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7782

   • Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7793

   • Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU8442

2. Seawater strainers must be used and have a media size of 2 mm (0.079 inch) or less per A&I, LEBW4978, "Cooling Systems". 1.6 mm (0.063 inch) media is strongly recommended in applications that are exposed to grass or debris.
