Correct Position Of Lockwashers For Electrical Components With Screw Terminals
Usage:
To provide a vibration resistant connection that will remain secure, lockwashers must be installed correctly when servicing electrical components with screw terminals. To achieve this, install the lockwasher on the component side of the terminal as shown in the illustration. Ensure that the wire and terminal are positioned correctly and tighten the screw to the recommended torque. This procedure is applicable to all electrical components except where the lockwasher is captive on the screw.
Correct sequence to secure electrical connections which have lockwashers and screw terminals. (1) Screw. (2) Flat Washer. (3) Terminal. (4) Lockwasher. (5) Electrical component.
